Done-For-You Educational Resources That Teach My Children English

If you are a busy parent, you probably don’t have time to research, plan, and teach your children ESL directly yourself. Yet you understand the value and importance of your children learning English language skills and want to invest in their education.

Choosing pre-made or teacher-led resources will help save you time, energy, and stress without compromising on your children’s education. Educational resources such as courses, live classes, or done-for-you memberships are great choices for providing your children with an English education, yet minimising the time needed from you.

That’s why, for you, the best type of educational resources would be teacher-led and hands-off so that your children can follow the content themselves, without relying on your instruction.

Here are some top tips for creating a hands-free learning routine at home:

• Build a hands-free learning routine at home. Try to set up a simple timetable that works with your family’s schedule. Even if your children only have ten minutes a day to learn English, use that time well. Small, regular sessions do more for progress than long but rare bursts.
• Ready-made printable activities are a practical help. Print them out once a week and set up folders for each day. Your children can then grab their folder and complete a mix of activities like a short story with questions, flashcards, or a craft linked to the story, such as making puppets or drawing a scene.
• Utilise videos to save you time. Educational videos can be a huge bonus when you are tight on time. Choose videos that are interactive, age-appropriate, and level-appropriate for your children. Alternatively, consider purchasing a course created by an ESL teacher. This way, you don’t have to worry about ads popping up throughout, and courses often focus on a specific topic and are accompanied by follow-up educational resources.
• Consider live classes. Though private tuition may be out of the question in terms of budget, there are still affordable options for your children to attend live classes with an experienced teacher. Group and webinar-style lessons are more affordable due to the increase in class size. Though not a personalised session specific to your children, live classes are still highly valuable in terms of learning from a qualified English teacher and alongside peers. Many group classes still offer opportunities for participation and give feedback, plus additional after-class follow-up activities.
• Don’t forget to spend a little time learning with your children directly. This could mean reading a story together, helping them talk about their day in English, or giving feedback on their finished work. Small moments like these help learning stick and give you a lovely way to connect.
